Karl came to us from a shelter in SC where he was surrendered because he “couldn’t hunt.” We believe he is a “Redline” Airedale, and he is very small – only 38 lbs – and he has a natural, uncropped tail. He is being fostered in Georgia by James and Amy until he finds his forever home. He has a big brother, Rocky, a Welsh Terrier, and two human siblings, a boy aged 15 and a girl aged 11.

He is a still a bit timid and skittish and he often doesn’t want to come in the house from outside, but once he’s inside, he is calm and relaxes with his family. He seems especially drawn to his mom and his human sister, over his dad and brother. But he loves for them to pet him under his chin.

He is crate-trained and house-trained and is learning to love his toys. He loves other dogs. He walks well on leash, but needs some basic training. He will chew anything left within reach so he will need a watchful family who is committed to training him.

How about your family for Karl?
